>=(am seriously EXTREMELY disappointed in some of the senior citizens in singapore. well, just those i encountered today. first, i got a bad start by alighting at the wrong bus stop, so i had to take 961 which ends at woodlands interchange instead of 178 which could have dropped me near my house's bus stop. then, got on the bus which was quite packed. so stood near the door but not on the steps. out of the blue, the bus driver signalled to me something. i was like O_O? i thought he didnt saw me tap my card or something. then, with no further notice, he suddenly BLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLURTED out damn loud: CANNOT STAND THERE. me: ooh ok. =_= he could have just told me nicely right, the 5 STAR service attitude everyone in any service industry wants to sell. ugh. thats not it. after sometime, good grief, i got a seat. consciously, at every stop, i checked to see if anyone needed the seat more than me- the SENIORS or maybe a pregnant lady =) ok, so this weird looking white haired uncle came on board, the bus still as crowded as ever, i stood up, while the bus was moving, to give him my seat. i dont wana make myself seem sooo awesome, but i was carrying a damn BIG, HEAVY bag PLUS, a file choke full of worksheets (imagine 2 big dictionaries, the weight), and an accounting textbook that was as heavy. excuse me dear mister, i gave up my seat for you despite the heavy and bulky stuff i was carrying. the least you could do is smile. guess what he did? the bus was moving, i had to grab something, before i could safely grab anything, he came charging. so there you have an ugly situation with a girl with a darn big bag going against the flow with the uncle pushing his way through. the best part has still yet to come. 'MAN MAN LAI, BU YAO TUI!' wtf. wtf. seriously wtf. he was the one pushing, making me and my bag in a weird place, not able to stand. I REGRETTED EVEN GIVING UP MY SEAT TO SUCH A PERSON. i even said sorry to him. i cant believe the audrey yee typing here right now, even said that. just too nice. brought up too nicely. of course those people who didnt know i was sitting down, gave up my seat, only to get scolded by this man, thought i was bullying a poor old defenceless uncle. BUT, the few poly students who saw me helplessly being blamed by this uncle, or everyone else, knew how mean some senior citizens can be. NOW I KNOW why some people i talked to, just want to stay away from them. because of their pride, and FACE that is worth millions (yea right, only to them), they push the blame onto the younger generation when they are caught in a situation of embarrassment. seriously, i think im going to stay away from them too. maybe someone else would have given up their seats, and i wouldnt have gotten myself in all this crap. >=( so what if you're 50, does it give you the right to display poor attitude, and expect everyone to forgive so easily? 50 or 19, who has more years? 50. who has more time to build up character? 50. regardless of age still, dont you think character shouldnt be compromised? and regardless of age, if you are in the wrong, dont you think you should apologise or at least not push it to someone else? 5,19, or 50. if in wrong, SOCIETY, or at least ME, expects equality in the right/wrong department for MORALS. i've nothing against the general seniors. just these two. and i've just voiced my unhappiness. thats all. vera~ UGH! HOPPING MAD! or not anymore =D blogging sooooo helps. |
